Off the Sheff

After a long and difficult couple weeks (listen to why at the beginning of our episode for our highs and lows) we decided to have some fun and go down memory lane! Lo tried to guess the song from hits that were released 10 years ago. Then we covered some songs you may have forgotten existed. I'm apologizing now for our singing throughout this episode, but we had so much fun!

Just a quick catchup this week as our highs and lows last much longer than expected as we talk about our trip to DC and Lo's half marathon! We also answer a very important question that has to do with the FBI and a paperclip. It's actullay not important at all, haha. Thanks for listening!

We just got back from an awesome vacation going on a Disney cruise ship with our three boys. Tune in to hear about how much fun we had but also why Jackson went through some regrets during the middle of the trip. This episode is a little more serious than most of our previous episodes. We decided to open up about some serious harassment that we dealt with a couple months ago. It was scary, frustrating, and lonely and we just wanted to share the story and our thoughts during it all. Also we wanted to take our power back in a way by sharing it with people and also feel others' love and support in a difficult time. Hopefully it helps you as well. We are so thankful for you and for those that have reached out! We love you. But don't worry, we still have lots of fun this episode! ;)

We are alive! After an unexpected few weeks of us being MIA, we catch you up on whats been keeping us busy. For Lo's 30th Jackson surprised her with a quick trip to her favorite city, New York!! But in typical fashion it didn't happen without some hurdles. Tune in to hear about the trip and also hear some deep wisdom from Lo now that she is 30! Also we talk about the submersible that happened this past week because honestly, who isn't??

We have a crazy story for you this episode that unfortunately ended up being both of our "lows" for the week. Basically people can be freaking rude sometimes and we just share our thoughts on why people can't just seem to be kind these days. After trying to solve the world's problems, we answer a couple questions from you our listeners! Topics include how to get into a regular exercise routine and dealing with conflicts when it comes to parenting different from your sibling. Its a good one!

Thank you everyone for the feedback from last episode and we have already applied what we learned. AKA: shorter episodes and no "Lights, Camera, Jackson!" (RIP) But honestly it hasn't changed that much and so make sure to tune in to hear all thats going on in our lives. Including the surprise that we are getting a new addition to our family very soon!! After last weeks episode we decided to do a whole podcast on finance and money tips. Like the title says, we are nobodies! This is just our experience and knowledge. We had so much to cover this episode including a HUGE life change for our family that happened this past week! Make sure to listen to get the good news! Part 2 of our mission stories series and this week it's Jackson's turn as he talks about his experience in Vina del Mar, Chile. He loved remembering that special time with the Chilean people and some of the good food and culture he experienced during the two years as a missionary for the LDS Church. A couple of the stories Lo hadn't even heard before, so make sure to tune in! We also start this episode out by trying a new food trend and deciding if it is actually any good. Haha but we did have some fun stories to share! Then we share our thoughts on the Super Bowl and Rihanna's Halftime, as well as Barney's facelift. This week we asked you all what makes you feel old! We got some great answers and honestly just loved that we aren't alone. We also chat about our highs and lows of the week including losing jobs and seeing our idols in concert. Honestly, not sure what to call this episode...but basically we just really leave it all out there for you all. So many different topics were covered this week including some big happenings in pop culture from the past couple weeks. Rumored relationships, shade being thrown, and of course all the drama of Prince Harry's new book. And BOY do we both have thoughts! But we also debate when a guy is ready to get married, words that inherently sound condescending, and also how to help a spouse that is going through a hard time. Seriously is it all over the place! It's great to be back after a busy but amazing holiday break! At the end of 2021 we did our first ever year end review on the podcast. Well, we decided to make it a tradition by reviewing those thoughts and goals we had at the beginning of last year to see how we did in 2022. Then we share our thoughts on this past year and then some resolutions for 2023. We also catch you up on the pop culture news that happened over the holidays (unfortunately a lot of it is sad news - but I promise we end it on a high!) And make sure to listen to the end to hear about some crazy stories we are into right now.

This week we gave some of our thoughts and tips when it comes to the holiday season and specifically some tricks if you are hosting this Christmas. Honestly, not sure how helpful or boring it is going to be, but I think there are some gold nuggets in there for ya! :) Either way we got you covered with happenings from our Thanksgiving as well as your weekly pop culture roundup. (Again, sorry not sorry for talking so much about our girl Taylor) But, to end the episode, we have a new Christmas song that is sure to get you in the holiday mood and probably get stuck in your head!

We could not stop talking this episode, and getting Crumbl cookies delivered during the podcast just gave us more unnecessary things to talk about. So there isn't really a cohesive theme.... :) But, I will say that it was all pretty entertaining! We also fill you in on all the happenings in the Sheffield household: birthdays, stitches, CHRISTMAS!! As well as whats going on in Hollywood and some of our hot takes on certain trending topics.

This episode was basically a therapy session for our marriage. Haha! We actually planned on talking about the importance of asking for and receiving help and it became so much more than that! Definitely some good thoughts came out of it and please send us your additional thoughts because we love learning and getting new insight on life! But the first half of this episode still includes some crazy celeb drama, personality riddles, and of course our excitement for the one and only Taylor Swift after she shattered streaming records this past week with the release of her new album Midnights. Tune in for a good time you won't want to miss!

When we went to record this episode we just wanted to chill and have some fun together. So...after getting some inspo from other podcasts, we decided to choose different categories (like movies or cereals) and then each draft our top four picks. If that doesn't make any sense, just listen to the episode and be entertained! Of course we also fill you in on pop culture, what we have been up to this past week, and what TV shows we are currently loving right now.

Jackson recently finished online school for UX Design! This episode we talk about that journey we had and all the different feelings we have about Jackson starting a new career. (Also if you know of anyone hiring UX Designers please let us know!) But also stick around to the end because, as always, our most entertaining content is when we start talking about “what is on our shelves.” This week we love possible new business ideas, living room furniture, and new music!

We asked for your biggest pet peeves and boy did y’all deliver! This was a fun episode to learn that we aren’t the only people that are passionate about our opinions. Haha! But we also covered some pop culture happenings including the passing of the Queen, pregnancies and possible break ups, as well as which Broadway shows are sadly closing their doors. But surprisingly the funniest part of this episode might be us talking about our fridge, so listen all the way to the end to catch that prime entertainment!

We may not be experts in the cruise industry, but we share everything we have learned from the 6 we have been on collectively. Definitely a must listen if you plan on cruising soon. Or even if you just want to dream of cruising! But even more entertaining is our passionate discussions during Lights, Camera, Jackson! which included a little *disagreement* about the reasons behind TSwift's new album release date. Honestly you just have to listen to it to understand. Also don't miss drama in the Utah Cookie Wars as well as what we are obsessing over the past week when we go over what's on our "shelves."

I'm sorry! I know the title is a little "click-baity," but we just had to grab your attention. This was actually a cool episode for us to record and reminisce on the hardships and the spiritual experiences we both had in deciding to have kids. The decision to have kids is a very personal one, and so the stories we share in this episode are close to us. We hope you enjoy the listen!

Love Languages. If you ever wondered what out love languages were (you probably never have...because that would be a tad weird) you don't need to worry any longer, because we took a test and figured out exactly how we each receive love! But, even more exciting, we have some crazy stories from this past week that include two hospital visits for one of our boys and another story that includes some interesting things happening on Utah MomTok. We talked about what we did this year, our traditions growing up, as well as whether or not grandmas also deserve to be celebrated on Mother's Day! Its been two weeks since we last recorded, and man it feels like a whole life has happened since then!
